David first learned chess in an after-school program when he was five years old. As he played with his peers, he quickly developed a passion for the game. At age 9, David began to play in local tournaments and started studying more to improve. Now, he finds connections between chess and other parts of his life, through skills like decision making and awareness.
David joined CTC with the resolution to expand the organization’s missions throughout the world under the Global Outreach initiative. His plans are centered around making chess resources more accessible for everyone to enjoy. He hopes to spread his love for chess around the globe, creating more opportunities for the game to grow and for the players to utilize their chess strengths in life. David’s chess accomplishments include:
- 2023 U.S. Junior Open, 5th Place
- 2023 U.S. Amateur Team North, 5th Place
Outside of chess, David is a spirited pianist, a dynamic tennis player, and is interested in chemistry and mathematics.
