Evan Park was seven when he started playing chess; he still remembers the magic and passion the game brought to him at that time. Over the years, Evan’s love for chess has never dwindled: he plays, teaches, and reads about chess constantly. Sharing the joy of chess with people around the globe is one of his chief aspirations. Evan hopes to offer support to each and every player he can reach and to inspire happiness through chess. Outside of chess, he enjoys reading different genres of books (historical fiction, biographies, food writing), playing piano (Liszt, Chopin, Liebermann), and appreciating and critiquing gourmet food and drinks (sushi, pasta, and all kinds of lemonade).

Evan’s major chess achievements include:

  • Silver Medal, 2021 North American Chess Championship U16
  • 5th Place, 2019 World Cadets Chess Championship U12
  • 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, US Chess All-America Team (“one of the highest national honors attainable” by young chess players ages 18 and under according to USCF)
  • Co-Champion, 2020 and 3rd Place, 2021, Barber National Tournament of Middle School State Champions (K-8), participated as the PA champion
  • K-6 Co-Champion, 2019, National Elementary Chess Championship
  • K-8 Champion, 2019, 2020, 2021; K-6 Champion, 2018; K-3 Champion, 2016, Pennsylvania State Scholastic Chess Championship
