This event is part of the celebration for the 2022 FIDE Year of the Woman in Chess (https://www.fide.com/news/1522), and honors four women who have made a lifetime contribution to chess in the New York region: the late International Arbiter Carol Jarecki, Director of Dalton School Chess Program WIM Beatriz Marinello, Principal of Hunter College Elementary School Dawn Roy, and Chess Organizer at ICA New Jersey Diane Tulman.

UQ is very proud to be part of this celebration and looks forward to connecting with the female chess leaders in the area!

College bound to MIT, Zhu reflected on her memorable games in the tournament. She annotated on the brilliant moves as well as blunders by both sides of the games, pausing at the critical and thrilling moments of the play to share with her readers how she evaluated the positions and made decisions. She recounted her mistakes, both psychological and technical, that will echo with many chess players at various levels.

Zhu’s article will be published in the upcoming summer issue of Chess Connections Magazine (https://chessconnections.org).
