Founded by Woman International Master Ellen Wang, Chess Through Challenges (CTC) is a student-led 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization officially registered in 2021. While spreading the love for the game and connecting the chess enthusiasts around the world, CTC strives to address the societal challenges of gender disparity, economic disadvantage and social exclusion within and beyond chess communities by innovating around the intellectual and social power of chess. Through initiatives and collaborations, CTC endeavors to empower girl players and close the gender gap in the game of chess, and to uplift underprivileged youth using chess as an educational tool and a social venue.
